Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVPs) Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP) refers to the imprinting of disembodied sounds and voices on an audio recorder such as a digital voice recorder or analog tape recorder. As a small group OSPI has one digital video recorder in use; an Olympus WS-300M. Within the next year we are planning to aquire at least one other DVR and invest in wireless audio. Each group has it's individual technique for EVP work and there are several sites that have tips for those just starting out. Among them we recommend our friends at the Ohio Exploration Society, just look under Information, Tips and Guides. We also recommend you check out the American Association of Electronic Voice Phenomenon.
We've decided to take LtEVP2.wav down. There isn't really anything discernable we can get from it after replay after replay after replay. I've tried slowing it down and I think it's just a breath from one of us when were positioning the DVR when we started recording. We still have some other files to go over, so we'll keep you informed. We just refuse to keep something that inconclusive up until we've put it through some more tests. |
